THE COSMETIC SURGERY DECISION

People look in the mirror on a daily basis and see something they would like to change about themselves. Whether it is as simple as the color of their hair or the condition of their skin, it is human nature to want to continually improve on what nature has bestowed on us. In addition, more and more people are finding that the changes they seek cannot be taken care of with hair dye or a facial cream. These people are looking for changes that can improve their appearance more permanently. These are the people who consider cosmetic surgery as an option.

Anyone considering cosmetic surgery should be comfortable with the doctor(s) they choose, and feel that the time spent in their Cosmetic Consultation was thorough and informative.

There are many steps to the process:

THE COSMETIC CONSULTATION

The First Step

In order to make your dreams become a reality, you must take the first step – contact us to make an appointment for the Cosmetic Consultation.

The goal of a cosmetic consultation at Gulf Coast Facial Plastics & ENT Center is primarily to educate the patient about the surgery in question, the process of preparing for surgery, and the recovery period involved.

The cosmetic consult is an important step in the process of considering cosmetic surgery. We understand more than anyone that a cosmetic consultation can be seen as an intimidating or daunting experience. Because of this, we take special care to ensure that our patients feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible in a professional, yet friendly atmosphere.

THE APPOINTMENT

Time Involved
A consultation at Gulf Coast Facial Plastics & ENT Center generally takes 1 to 2 hours. Upon arrival, you will check in with our front office staff, and fill out all necessary paperwork. This will include a brief health history (link to this paperwork below so that it can be done prior to your visit), giving us the information needed to determine that you are a good candidate for elective surgery.

The Patient Care Consultant
Next, you will be introduced to one of our cosmetic patient care consultants. They will personally take you through the consultation process as they are trained in all aspects of your care. They are present before, during, and after your procedure and are your concierge throughout the process. They are available to answer all your questions, will discuss your image enhancement goals and make honest recommendations, show before and after photos of the doctor's work and introduce you your surgeon.

Surgeons
You will meet your surgeon in a private, comfortable consultation room where you will spend time communicating your specific desires and wishes. The doctor will examine you and give you his advice on how to best achieve the results that you desire.

Afterward
After meeting with your doctor our financial consultant will discuss cost with you. You will receive a quote that you can take home with you that day. We will also provide information regarding after-care facilities and coordinate phone conversations with patients, when necessary, that have undergone procedures similar to those in which you are interested.

At Gulf Coast Facial Plastics & ENT Center, we hope that you leave our office an informed patient, excited about the future, and its many possibilities. We are available for any follow up questions by phone or even for a 2nd consult to assist you in making your decision.

LONG-DISTANCE / EASY-CONSULTATION

We understand that it is often inconvenient, time-consuming and expensive for patients to fly to our office for a consultation then fly back again a few weeks later for surgery. We have designed a program to facilitate your experience that will allow you to determine the options that are available to you with ease and understanding.

Here's How It Works:

Make Contact

The first step is to call or e-mail our patient care consultant, and request New Patient Application Forms.

Fill in the Blanks

Fill out our new patient information sheet, and all other pertinent forms and return to our office via fax or e-mail. (The paperwork can also be mailed to our office with your do-it-yourself pre-operative photos – see below).

Say Cheese

Please provide clear, recent close-up photos. Photos should clearly show your area of concern and can be sent regular mail or e-mailed.

Obtain an Assessment
Our doctors will assess if you are a good candidate for procedures that you are interested in. You will then be contacted by our Patient Care Consultant who will discuss pre-operative care, costs, recovery, local accommodations and any questions related to your procedure(s).
Schedule Your Procedure
Read, Initial, Sign

Shortly after your surgery is scheduled, you will receive a packet in the mail containing pre-operative instructions and procedure consents. These documents must be read carefully and all instructions followed closely. All consents must be signed in the presence of a notary public, and notarized (if domestic), or authenticated by an official witness (if international). If you have questions at this time please call or e-mail our office.

Fly In For Surgery

Nearby Airport: Panama City Airport

For a map to our office from Panama City Airport, Click Here.

We are located approximately 5 minutes from the airport.

You MUST arrive one to two days prior to your surgery date. At a designated time during this period you will meet with the doctor/s and have an in depth consultation discussing all procedures. At this time you will sign your surgery consents (if necessary) – in the presence of your patient care consultant.

Recovery

We advise all patients that fly-in for surgery to spend at least the first night at an after-care facility thus ensuring any required medical attention necessary. In the days that follow we will see you post-operatively and depending upon the procedures that have been performed you may return home 7-14 days later. In the event that you require any medical attention after returning home we will refer you to a local physician for a check-up. Your health and safety remain our number one priority.
