Destin Laser Skin Resurfacing

Individuals who have age spots, facial scars, or uneven skin pigmentation may choose to undergo laser skin resurfacing. This is a non-surgical procedure used to correct areas of damaged skin or as a treatment for wrinkles. At Gulf Coast Facial Plastics & ENT Center, Daniel C. What is Laser Skin Treatment?

Clients with wrinkled or damaged skin may be good candidates for laser skin treatments. Prior to performing this procedure, Dr. Daube will evaluate the individual's skin texture and aesthetic goals to decide if this treatment is the most appropriate solution. Laser resurfacing can also address skin growths, acne or other facial scars, brown spots or blotchy skin coloring, and superficial facial scars. Dr. Daube will help an individual address a specific region of the skin or an entire area of the face, depending on their needs. This skincare treatment is relatively quick, which may last anywhere between a few minutes to more than an hour and a half. Skin resurfacing will be administered with a local anesthetic or under sedation.

After treatment, the patient will be provided with specific care instructions, such as applying ointment to keep the area lubricated and staying out of the sun; these steps will aid in the healing process. With proper care during the recovery period, the treated area will look healthier and have a smoother complexion.

Often, additional procedures are performed in conjunction with skin resurfacing treatments for optimal results. Some of these treatments may include dermal fillers such as Botox ® or Restylane ®, facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy"), and/or eyelid surgery ("blepharoplasty").
