Usually, individuals who undergo this procedure are 35 years of age or older; however, younger candidates may also have sagging eyelids which are genetically predisposed. Dr. Daube performs blepharoplasty surgery by making incisions along the natural creases of the eye. He removes excess fat, tightens the muscles, and trims excess skin.

Typically, this cosmetic surgery procedure can take one to three hours, depending on whether additional procedures are performed. Often, rhinoplasty ("nose surgery") and facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy"), as well as injectables, such as Botox ®, may be combined with an eyelid lift.
