Panama City Facelift

If an individual wants to eliminate face and neck skin that has begun to sag, he/she may be a good candidate for facelift surgery. Typically, a facelift is performed by making an incision along the natural contour of the ear and around the earlobe along the hairline. During this procedure, Dr. Daube will remove excess fat, tighten the underlying muscles, and then redrape the skin over the face and neck.

Often, a neck lift procedure ("platysmaplasty") is recommended to gain optimal results; in this case, an incision will also be made under the chin. Dr. Daube will remove excess fat and trim sagging skin.

A tube may be used after surgery to allow fluid to drain from the incision, and a bandage will be placed along the incision lines for several days. Swelling is expected for the first 48 hours after surgery, and bruising should subside within two weeks. Dr. Daube will remove stitches at the one-week visit.

In cases where sagging skin is minimal, Panama City facial plastic surgeon Dr. Daube may suggest a mid-facelift ("mini facelift"). Other procedures, such as eyelid surgery ("blepharoplasty") or Botox ® injections may also be recommended at the time of treatment, and may be performed in combination with facelift surgery, depending on the patient's condition and needs.
